The use name among Egyptians and ex-patriates in Egypt for the American Mission of the United Presbyterian Church of North America, in Egypt. Among themselves, the UPNA missionaries called their institution the Egypt Mission, but the term American Mission was how they became known throughout the country at the turn of the 20th century, when the majority of Americans in Egypt were part of the Presbyterian mission. Examples of the term include the street name American Mission Street running on the western side of Schutz property, and the American Mission Hospital, Tanta.
